Windows Home
Covers everyday use: browsing, office work, media, and gaming. Includes Windows Hello, Snap Layouts, and the Microsoft Store & Xbox app.
Windows Pro
Everything in Home, plus features aimed at business and power users: BitLocker drive encryption, Hyper-V virtualization, Remote Desktop (host), Windows Sandbox, and Group Policy management.
Windows Enterprise
Builds on Pro with organization-scale deployment and security tooling, and is typically licensed through volume agreements rather than a single retail key.
Which edition do I need?
Most home users are well served by Home or Pro. If you need to encrypt your drive, run virtual machines, or remotely access your PC, Pro is worth the upgrade.
